This wedding was a unique and fairy tale wedding of any girls dream. Held in a mansion in Brenham, TX everything was perfect until the weather took a turn. After a long and cold night of setting up tables, directing handicapped vehicles, setting up food stations, and setting centerpieces I learned to handle weather and venue changes with grace. After the wedding party made their entrance and had the first dance, quick hands had to move everything inside to accommodate the weather.
St. Thomas Early Learning Center opened its doors in 1964 as a children's school helping kids play, learn, and explore all of God's creation. Including parents and volunteers within the community is also an active part in the kids education and where I had the opportunity to help with the Annual Spring Festival with St. Thomas E.L.C. Setting up booths and running them allowed for kids to participate in activities with their families and allowing them to learn and grow together. The festival was to help raise money for the school.
Appreciating the arts is something everyone should have the chance to do. Carter Creek Concerts brings in talented, well-known, musicians from all over to allow the community to enjoy a free concert. Following the concert is a reception with food and drinks donated by church members. I was able to participate in the concert by being a greeter and welcoming people to the event and guiding them to where they needed to go. This was the first impression guests made about the event and working the reception was the last impression.
